As Professional Organizers, we are always asked how best to increase productivity and there are many ways to do so, but on a recent teleclass with Bill Zipp of Summit Small Business, I learned some great techniques I want to share with you in five parts. Why 5? Change doesn't happen overnight and it's not wise to change too many habits at once. Have a better chance at success by tackling each part individually.
Step #1: Understand that FOCUS is more important than EFFICIENCY. It does not matter if you get 20 things done if they were the wrong things. What does matter is that you focus on the most important tasks as they relate to yourself, family, life, career and business.
This Week's Action: Decide what your focus is and choose 1-3 tasks to support that focus. If a task or an activity does not support that focus, simply delete it. It's just that simple.
Stay tuned for Step #2 to Dramatically Increase Your Productivity.
