Seven years ago I took early retirement from my PR job with the Social Security Administration after reading the quote "Our purpose in life is to find our gift, perfect it and give it back to others." I founded Money Wi$e Women and made it my personal mission to educate and empower women to live financially healthy.
Women who attend Money Wi$e Women Conferences tell us that they have learned:
- I thought I was attending a workshop with great financial information. This was so much more -- you should rename it -- Wise Women's Network.
- I am not alone.
- Small steps can be significant and have an impact.
- Finances have been scary to me. I now have the information to make goals and decisions.
- It opened my eyes to know that I can get my finances in order and be confident that I can reach my goals. Be realistic.
- I feel empowered to create positive change in my life and now realize I cannot afford to wait any longer.
- I had not made financial awareness a priority. I had no idea why I should make it a priority. Now I know. And, I feel I have been give enough information to continue my education and manage my finances.
- Explained a lot of things in a very easy way that I used to feel was a foreign language.
- I feel empowered to implement plans, however daunting, which will lead to my financial success.
I created the Money Wi$e Women Blog to provide you with a place to communicate and with other women about money and further your financial education. It contains education, empowerment, advice and support from other women -- both financial and professional experts and women who are asking questions, sharing their challenges, success, tips and tools.
Learning about money is a process. Did you learn a foreign language by taking one class, one test, reading one book? No, and the same thing applies to learning about money. You are not going to learn everything you need to know by attending one conference, one workshop or reading one book. It is an ongoing process.
The Money Wise Women Blog is here to help continue your financial education. It is a safe, secure place to ask questions, share your challenges and successes and learn from other women by adding your comments to posts or by sending your questions by email to any of our guest authors that have a featured bio. You will find lots of money related topics written by financial and professional experts that serve as our guest authors.
Enjoy and keep learning. Know that ...

I think many women are taught from a young age that handling money and learning to invest properly is something that should be left to men. But this idea is definitley changing- look at all the women CEOs and CFOs out there for Forutne 500 companies!

This is a great blog! Many women do not have a positive or healthy attitude towards money and this needs to be changed. Women need to be empowered with their money!
